Arsenal Reach Full Agreement for Centre-Back Transfer Amid Premier League Competition

Arsenal are closing in on the signing of highly-rated Valencia centre-back Christian Mosquera, with Fabrizio Romano confirming that the Gunners have reached a full agreement on personal terms with the 21-year-old defender.
The promising young talent has attracted interest from several top clubs across Europe, but Arsenal now appear to be leading the race.
Mosquera, valued at around £17 million, has been on the radar of multiple clubs, including Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Bayer Leverkusen, and Atletico Madrid. Despite the competition, Arsenal’s new sporting director Andrea Berta has reportedly used his strong negotiation skills and existing connections to push the deal forward.
According to Romano, Arsenal’s initial bid of €14 million was rejected by Valencia, but the North London club are preparing an improved offer in hopes of finalising the transfer soon. The agreement on personal terms marks a significant step in securing the player’s signature.
The addition of Mosquera would be seen as a strategic move by Mikel Arteta, aiming to strengthen defensive depth with a player who offers both potential and top-level experience. Mosquera has already made nearly 100 senior appearances and is known for his composure, athleticism, and versatility in the back line.
If completed, this would represent a smart investment for Arsenal as they continue to build a competitive squad capable of challenging for major honours next season. A formal agreement with Valencia is expected in the coming days.
