Chelsea Given Fresh Hope as €65m Bid Highlights Striker’s Availability

Victor Osimhen, once a long-term target for Chelsea, had seemingly drifted off the club’s radar after a series of transfer setbacks.

Napoli’s high asking price last summer deterred potential suitors, leading to his eventual loan move to Galatasaray.

Meanwhile, the emergence of Nicolas Jackson as one of the Premier League’s standout strikers in the first half of the season meant Chelsea had little reason to revisit their interest in the Nigerian forward.

However, circumstances have changed. Jackson’s dip in form has reinforced the need for an additional striker with a proven goal-scoring instinct.

At the same time, Osimhen’s valuation has gradually declined. Napoli initially demanded €120m, later lowered their expectations to €75m, and now reports from CaughtOffside suggest that Galatasaray’s €65m bid to make his move permanent has been rejected.

While Napoli clearly still expect a higher fee, the downward trend in price signals a potential opening for other interested clubs.

Osimhen has expressed a strong desire to return to a top European league, and a move to the Premier League would undoubtedly be an exciting prospect.
