Man Utd manager set to sanction this striker transfer
Barely weeks to the January transfer window and a recent report has disclosed that Manchester United new manager Ruben Amorim is prepared to sanction Antony’s departure from the club.
Recall that Amorim recently arrived at Old Trafford from Sporting Lisbon as a replacement for manager Erik ten Hag.
A report via Daily Star disclosed that Amorim is set to offload Antony when the transfer window opens in the new year.
The Red Devils are willing to selling Antony to the ‘highest bidder’, and are also willing to entertain a potential loan departure.
Man United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is said to determine to get Antony’s £200,000-a-week earnings off the club’s wage bill.
Also the report disclosed that the Red Devils view Giovanni Quenda as a potential replacement for Antony after it was recently revealed that they were interested in pursuing a January move for the Sporting Lisbon youngster.
The Red Devils had high expectations when they paid £81.3m to sign the Brazilian winger from Dutch side Ajax in the summer of 2022.
However, Antony has not been all that impressive for the Red Devils.
The winger who scored 24 goals and created 22 assists in 82 appearances for the Dutch giants, failed to replicate the numbers during his time at Old Trafford, having scored 12 goals and five assists in his 87 matches for the Red Devils.
