Ahead of the return of club football, former Chelsea star Tony Cascarino has sent a message to the Blues manager Enzo Maresca on the player to start in front incase Nicolas Jackson sustains injury.

So far this season, Maresca has relied on Jackson and Christopher Nkunku at the front while playing them in different tournaments.

While Nkunku has scored more goals that Jackson, Maresca, however, prefers to play the Senegalese in the Premier League.

Cascarino has, however, urged the Blues manager to consider a third option as Jackson struggled to impress for Senegal during their game against Malawi.

The former football star advised Maresca to consider Noni Madueke, who has been one of Chelsea’s most dangerous players this season.

In the six Premier League matches that the winger has played, he has score four goals.

Cascarino expressed desire to see Maresca try him up front, as he compared the 22-year-old to Chelsea legend Didier Drogba.

When asked about Madueke, Cascarino said on talkSPORT that he would love to see him play the centre-forward role.

“I think give him a go because I see a centre-forward. I like him Jackson, but I think if there’s an injury, I think Madueke,” the former player added.
