Former Man Utd star breaks silence after reduced doping ban
Former Man Utd and now Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba broken his silence after his doping ban was reduced.
The France international took to his social media timeline on Friday to react to the Court of Arbitration, CAS, decision to reduce his doping ban from four years to 18 months.
According to the CAS in a statement on Friday, the midfielder’s suspension had been reduced to 18 months, effective from September 11, 2023.
Pogba’s initial four-year ban was handed down by the Italian National Anti-Doping Tribunal in February.
This means Pogba will be back to action on the pitch from March 11, 2025, just four days before his 32nd birthday.
Reacting to CAS’s decision Pogba stated that the nightmare was over and he could look forward to the day when he would be able to follow his dreams again.
The footballer added that he never knowingly breached anti-doping regulations.
“I play with integrity and I want to thank the Court of Arbitration who heard my explanation,” the French midfielder said.
We would have to wait to see if the Old Ladies who are struggling at the moment in the Italian Serie A league will still retain Pogba’s service especially since he is now over 30.
