EPL: FA decide on punishing Haaland over action towards Arsenal star
A recent update has revealed that the Football Association, FA, has decided not to punish Manchester City star Erling Haaland, for bouncing the ball off Gabriel’s head after their late goal against Arsenal on Sunday at Etihad Stadium.
The incident occured in the 98th minute following John Stones’s late goal which turned out to be an equaliser for City in a thrilling 2-2 draw against the Gunners.
Haaland scored the opening goal, before summer signing Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel gave the Gunners the lead.
Arsenal player Leandro Trossard was handed a second yellow card for kicking the ball away before late goal was scored by Stones.
After Stones found the net, Haaland was seen picking the ball up and throwing it against the head of Gabriel, who was unable to see what was happening as he had his shirt over his face.
While no action was taken at the time, the FA has now ruled that VAR had reviewed the incident already.
The recent draw against Arsenal kept Man City at the forefront among favourite clubs to win the Premier League title this season.
Arsenal who are also favourites will have to struggle to avoid Man City beating them to the title for the third time.
