Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reacted to his side’s goalless draw against Italian Serie A side Atalanta on Thursday night in the Champions League.

According to Arteta, the match was not the nicest to watch.

The Gunners started their Champions League with a 0-0 draw in Bergamo, Italy on Thursday night.

Arsenal’s goalkeeper David Raya was the man of the match for Arsenal, as he produced impressive double save to deny Mateo Retegui from the penalty.

In a statement via TNT Sports after the game, Arteta said: the face off between Arsenal and Atalanta was a tough match.

While he stressed that his side started the match well and were commanding the game, Arteta added that Arsenal gave a lot of balls away and couldn’t get any rhythm.

“There are a lot of positives and there are a lot of things for sure to improve,” he said.

Following their goalless draw against Atalanta, the North London will now focus on their away game in the Premier League this weekend.
