Carabao Cup: Man Utd open floodgate of goals on Barnsley

Manchester United returned to action on Tuesday night when they play against Barnsley in the third round of the 2024 Carabao Cup.

The game saw Man Utd show their impressive side as they defeated Barnsley with a 7-0 scoreline at Old Trafford.

Man Utd led by manager Erik ten Hag dominated from the begining to the end of the match as Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho scored two goals each.

The first goal came from from Rashford, followed by a penalty conversion from Antony. Garnacho scored a third before halftime, making it 3-0 at the break.

After the break, the Red Devils maintained their dominating form with Garnacho and Rashford scoring again, before Christian Eriksen sealed the win two late goals.

The exciting win has pushed Manchester United into the next round of the tournament, with their upcoming matches set to continue across multiple fronts.

Following Man Utd’s victory, the fourth round draw of the Carabao Cup will take place on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils will hope to maintain their solid form when they play against Crystal Palace this weekend in the English Premier League.

They are currently at the 10th spot on the Premier League table and would hope to move higher as the season continues.
