Chelsea have turned their focus from Napoli star Victor Osimhen as they remain keen on signing a new striker for their manager Enzo Maresca from the summer transfer window closes.

Recent report revealed the Blues are close to announcing the arrival of new striker, Samu Omorodion, from Spanish side Atletico Madrid.

Ace football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano in a tweet via his X account on Tuesday revealed that the Spain U23 star is set to join the Blues.

According to Romano, Omorodion will be moving to Stamford Bridge on a seven year contract, valid until June 2031.

The transfer expect revealed that personal terms had been agreed on and Atlético Madrid will receive £35m as transfer fee.

However, Omorodion’s move to Stamford Bridge will be completed when Atletico Madrid get a green light for Julián Álvarez, who they want to sign as his replacement.

Meanwhile Chelsea want to create competition at the front as their striker Nicolas Jackson struggled in front of the goal last season under former manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Blues hierarchy want to give manager Maresca the players he needs to rebuild Chelsea squad after they finished at the 6th spot on the Premier League log last season.
