Arsenal leading the race to sign this Sporting Lisbon forward

Arsenal have been busy this summer transfer window and it appears to be yielding positive results.

This comes as a report claimed the Gunners are now at the forefront to sign Sporting Lisbon forward Viktor Gyokeres this summer.

There have been claims that manager Mikel Arteta is in the market for a new central striker, but so far, they have been unable to seal a deal.

This is owing to the presence of Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah, who are still at the Emirates Stadium, despite being linked with moves away from the club.

However, with reports linking Emile Smith Rowe to Fulham for a fee around £35m, and Reiss Nelson on a transfer to a yet to be known club, there will be spaces for new players at Arsenal.

This is where Gyokeres, who impressed at the Portuguese giants during 2023-24, could come in at Arsenal.

With 43 goals and 15 assists were contributed in all competitions, Gyokeres could be the man the Gunners need next season.

Liverpool were said to be interested in signing him but a report via TeamTalk revealed the Reds are not ready to sign him this summer.

Chelsea at some point showed interest but it is unknown if they will submit a bid for him.
