Chelsea’s squad are barely yet to fully return for the preseason training and games, but there appears to be tension already in their dressing room.

This comes after a video of Enzo Fernandez and some of his Argentina teammates singing a racist song pointing out the African ancestry of French players after their Copa America win over Colombia on Monday morning trended online.

The video which was aken from the midfielder’s own Instagram Live got to Frenchmen of African descent in Chelsea players as they reportedly unfollowed Fernandez on Instagram.

Wesley Fofana who took offence in the video reshared it and included a caption that read: “Le Football, Le 2024: racisme decomplexe.”

This is the last thing the Blues newly appointed manager Enzo Maresca will want to deal with as he haven’t even met the full squad yet.

Maresca is barely into his second week on the job and there is already tension in the dressing room which could affect the players relationship.

While Fernandez has since tendered an apology over his action in the video, a report via the BBC has disclosed that Chelsea are also investigating the footage.

The French football body is also taking video up with FIFA.
