Chelsea close to signing Veiga, to undergo medical Wednesday

Chelsea are close to sealing another deal for a new player amid the ongoing summer transfer window.

This comes as recent reports disclosed that the Blues target Renato Veiga is set to undergo his medical on Wednesday in a bid to move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Recall that the West London side have already agreed on a deal to sign Veiga from FC Basel.

However, in a recent update football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, revealed that all the documents will be signed between Chelsea and Basel for Veiga’s transfer to the Premier League west London club after the medical.

Romano in a tweet via his X handle said Veiga’s final part of medical will be done on Wednesday then documents will be signed between Chelsea and Basel.

Veiga, born in 2003, is a  left-footed versatile defender and midfielder.

Once the deal is done, Veiga will be Chelsea’s fifth signing this summer for their new manager Enzo Maresca.

So far this summer transfer window, the west London side have already brought in Tosin Adarabioyo, Omari Kellyman, Marc Guiu and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

The Blues are still linked with moves for new striker to create competition for Nicolas Jackson as they prepare for a new season.
