Manchester United are keen on signing Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite as the recent report disclosed they have up their bid for him.

Recall that the Toffees had previously turned down a £35m bid from Man United for the England international.

There are now new claims that the Red Devils have revised offer to about £45m, with the possibility of additional payments should set targets be met.

However, a recent report via the BBC Sport, disclosed that the figure still does not match Everton’s valuation.

Branthwaite put up an impressive form as a left-sided central defender at Goodison Park as he helped Everton avoid relegation last season despite two points deductions for breaching rules limiting financial losses.

On the other hand, Man United are want to bolster their options in central defence and are in talks over Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt.

With Raphael Varane’s exit from the club, there has been report on an agreement between the Red Devils and veteran centre-back defender Jonny Evans over a new one-year deal.

Also there are doubts about the future of Sweden star Victor Lindelof at Old Trafford. Although he has reported to Carrington for the first day of pre-season training on Monday.
