Chelsea newly appointed manager Enzo Maresca in a recent statement named Carlo Ancelotti former Blues manager he has learnt from.

Maresca arrives at Stamford Bridge as he joins a long line of managers from Italy who have coached Chelsea in the past.

The former Leicester City manager will be hoping that he can replicate the achievements of his colleagues from his country who have come to Stamford Bridge before him.

Chelsea under Italian managers won the Champions League title, Premier League title, and FA Cups.

Maresca will be hoping to do the same especially as he claimed in his first interview via the club’s official website that he was inspired by the current Real Madrid boss Ancelotti after playing under him in the past.

Speaking about Chelsea former managers, Maresca said Carlo Ancelotti, Marcello Lippi, Manuel Pellegrini are very important managers.

“We all try to take things and then we create our own box with all these things inside,” he said.

Recall that the Blues signed Maresca as a replacement for Argentine manager Mauricio Pochettino who left Stamford Bridge on mutual agreement despite finishing at the 6th spot on the league table last season.
