Merson predicts where Chelsea, Man Utd will finish next season

Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has predicted where Chelsea and Man Utd will finish on the Premier League table next campaign.

Recall that last season, the Red Devils and the Blues endured difficult times.

While Chelsea were stuck in mid-table for most of the season, they managed to win their last five fixtures to move to the sixth spot on the table and qualify for European tournaments.

The Blues have since sacked their manager Mauricio Pochettino to replace him with former Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca, who will take over from July 1.

On the other hand, Man United led by Erik ten Hag endured their worst-ever Premier League season, finishing in eighth place on the log.

However, they surprised football fans after they defeated their arch rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup final, to clinch a Europa League spot.

In a statement via Sky Sports, Merson suggested that Tottenham Hotspur will have to concentrate on their team as the top four will be difficult to attain next season.

The former Arsenal star predicted Chelsea to be in the top four but believes Man Utd can only get better.
