Former Liverpool star Mark Lawrenson has tipped Chelsea veteran defender Thiago Silva to make an unexpected summer move to Manchester United on a free transfer.

Recall that Silva made headlines during the week after he announced he will exit Stamford Bridge at the end of the season after four seasons.

Although, the ace defender will turn 40 in September, he has proven he is still capable of operating at the highest level.

So far three clubs in the Premier League are said to be interested Silva amid a possible return to the Brazilian league.

Lawrenson in a statement via Paddy Power said he see the defender going to Old Trafford in the summer.

The former defender believes the Brazilian would be a good signing for the Red Devils as long as he can stay fit.

Lawrenson believes Silva has what Manchester United haven’t had from their central defenders this season.

In another report, Silva has hinted at the possibilities of remaining in England for the sake of his children who are with Chelsea academy but it is unlikely he would agree to move to Old Trafford.

Also the Brazilian may not be available for the Blues in their remaining matches for the rest of the season.
