Former Arsenal star reacts as he wins title with Leverkusen
Former Arsenal and now Bayer Leverkusen star, Granit Xhaka has reacted to the club’s victory in German Bundesliga.
Xhaka also pointed out two exceptional players Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella, for their positive contribution to the Leverkusen’s title success in more than 100 years since the club’s created.
Leverkusen led by manager Xabi Alonso claimed their first-ever Bundesliga title on Sunday after their 5-0 win over Werder Bremen.
Nigerian star Boniface, whose was on the sidelines with adductor injury scored 11 goals in 18 league appearances for Die Werkself this season.
His international counterpart, Tella on the other hand scored five goals.
“For Boni and Nathan, they’re very good, very positive, always with a smile on their faces. With them, we have a lot of quality in the team, on and off the pitch, and it’s so nice to be a part of them and the team,” Xhaka was quoted by Soccernet.
With their victory in the Bundesliga, Leverkusen will now focus their attention to Thursday’s UEFA Europa League quarter-final clash with Premier League side West Ham United, with the hope of bagging another title.
Meanwhile, Alonso was recently named among favourites to become Liverpool’s next manager.
