Two clubs Chelsea’s Pochettino will never coach

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino recently claimed he will never coach Arsenal and Spanish Serie A club Barcelona.

Pochettino made this known while speaking ahead of his return to Tottenham Hotspur with the Blues on Monday.

Recall that the Argentine tactician was linked to the Gunners job four years ago after Unai Emery was sacked.

But the talks didn’t work out as Arsenal have since been coached by their former player Mikel Arteta, who has done a great job so far.

Pochettino was Tottenham’s head coach for five years and was sacked in 2019, after which he became PSG manager before taking the Chelsea job this summer.

In the past, the 51-year-old also managed Espanyol in Spain.

“I always said that the only clubs I would never manage are Arsenal – they are considered the worst enemy for Tottenham – and Barcelona, because of Espanyol,” he said, as quoted by BBC Sport.
