Four players Chelsea can sign to compete for titles

Former Liverpool star, Jamie Carragher believes Chelsea doesn’t stand the chance to challenge Manchester City for the title this season with their current squad.

This is after the Blues’ had splashed millions on transfer spending in the past year.

The Blues have spent a total of £1billion on players under Todd Boehly.

So far this summer, they have spent around £320million on new players but Carragher still feels Chelsea are missing at least four top players, including a goalkeeper, a centre forward and a striker.

“If you ask me how many players they need to challenge Manchester City, I still think they need a new goalkeeper even though they’ve just signed Sanchez,” the former Liverpool defender told Sky Sports.

“I think they probably still need another top centre-half because Thiago Silva is 38.

“I don’t think there’s a real out-and-out goalscorer.

“It still feels like four players, four top players, would need to go into that team…”
