Chelsea have once again shown interest in Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo as they join the race to sign him from Manchester United in the January transfer window.

The Blues had attempted to sign the Portugal international over the summer but they failed as their former manager, Thomas Tuchel did not approve the move.

Ronaldo was desperate to leave Man United for a Champions League club and Chelsea was one of the clubs Jorge Mendes, his agent, offered him to.

Tuchel’s decision was said to have angered Chelsea owner Todd Boehly who was desperate to sign him.

Chelsea went on to sign forwards Raheem Sterling from Manchester City and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona instead.

Sunday World reports that the American business mogul will try again in January when the window re-opens in light of the player’s recent antics.

However, Man Utd manager Erik Ten Hag, while addressing the press after their 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Saturday said Ronaldo remains an important part of his team.

But the reports in England suggest that Ronaldo has already played his last game for Man Utd and a January exit is preferred by all parties
