Man United midfielder and France International Paul Pogba had reportedly reached an agreement with Man City.
He, however, had to change his decision due to concerns over the reaction he would receive from the Red Devils fans, The Times reports.
Pogba will be leaving Manchester United as a free agent at the end of this season when his contract is due to expire.
He has been linked with a return to the Italian side Juventus as well as Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid who have equally shown interest to sign him.
The Times reported that Man City had even agreed on personal terms with Pogba but the midfielder opted against the move.
The report revealed Pogba believes a move away from the Premier League would be the best for him and that his life would be made ‘unbearable’ by Man United supporters if he remained in Manchester.
The report claimed the French midfielder has made known his decision to Man City that he would prefer to sign for a club outside of the Premier League.
There are claims his agents were in Turin earlier this week to meet with Juventus, which means he could be set for a return to Serie A next season.
