Man Utd striker and Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted on staying put at Old Trafford as he expects new manager Erik ten Hag to win a trophy next season.

Ronaldo, however, stressed that Ten Hag will would “need time” to be successful at Old Trafford.

This will be the first time the 37-year-old striker has spoken since the Red Devils appointed the Dutchman on a three-year deal with the option of an extra season.

“I know that he’s done a fantastic job at Ajax, and that he is an experienced coach, but we have to give him time.

“Things must change the way he wants. If you do well, all of Manchester United will succeed, so I wish you all the best.

“We are all happy and excited, not only as players, but as fans as well. We have to believe that next year we can win titles,” Ronaldo told manutd.com.

Man United lost a chance to play in the UCL next season as they will finish outside the top five in the Premier League this season.
