EPL: Tuchel hails this player despite goalless draw vs the Wolves
The Blues manager Thomas Tuchel has applauded Saul Niguez despite their goalless draw vs the Wolves on Sunday.
Since moving to Stamford Bridge on loan in the summer transfer window from Spanish club Atletico Madrid, Saul has struggled to make an impact in the Blues squad.
But surprisingly, the Spain international put up an impressive display when he came on as a half-time substitute against Wolves after an injury to Trevoh Chalobah.
“Yes, he played well today,” Tuchel told Chelsea TV after the match.
“In general we played better because the structure was better, the discipline was better in the structure.
“That helped us to be better, to be high up the pitch, to impose our style of play, to increase the intensity, we were, in general, better as a team and Saul was an important part of it.”
Saul is likely to return to action when Chelsea play against Brentford in the Carabao Cup scheduled for Wednesday.
This is because many of Chelsea key players would still be out of the teams by then.
