Man Utd yet to officially contact former Chelsea coach as Ole’s replacement
The latest report has revealed that Man Manchester United are yet to officially contact former Chelsea and Inter Milan coach Antonio Conte as a replacement for an underperforming Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
While the Italian manager is not known to join clubs in the middle of a season, the reports, however, claimed he could change his mind if the Red Devils hierarchy approached him.
This was made public by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who stressed that there are no official talks yet between Conte and Man Utd.
Romano revealed that Man United’s board are still in conversation about whether to keep Solskjaer at Old Trafford despite their 5-0 to Liverpool over the weekend or not.
The Italian transfer expert wrote via his Twitter handle, “First step has to be the final decision on Solskjaer by the (Manchester United) board. Internal talks are still ongoing over how to handle the crisis.”
“Antonio Conte would be prepared to talk with Man Utd about project, as revealed today – but there’s still no official contact yet.
“To be clear about Antonio Conte. He’s never been a fan of joining clubs during the season as it’s not in his style – the only club right now that could change Antonio’s mind is Manchester United.
“Still no official talks. Depends of Solskjær situation – matter of respect.”
