Man City ready to challenge Man Utd for Declan Rice
Manchester City are reportedly ready to challenge Man Utd in the race to sign Declan Rice from West Ham.
Recall that the two clubs had shown interest in Rice in the recent transfer window; however, no agreement was reached with West Ham, who were demanding $80 million for the player.
While Rice remains at West Ham this season and earlier reports had claimed the Red Devils were already working out a framework to go all out for him next summer transfer window.
The Red Devils squad led by coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may have to be ready to challenge Man City as a report via The Sun claimed that Pep Guardiola wants Rice as a replacement for Fernandinho at the Etihad Stadium.
Recall that Fernandinho extended his stay at Man City until 2022 earlier this year but is not going to remain at Ethihad Stadium beyond the end of this season. However, there are reports he could stay at the club in a behind-the-scenes role.
Rice, on the other hand, has just less than three years left on his current deal with West Ham, which means any club interested in him will still have to table a good offer.
