Newcastle planning a loan move for this Arsenal youngster

Ahead of the summer transfer window, Newcastle United have reportedly been linked with moves for Arsenal youngster, William Saliba.

The reports revealed that the Magpies are planning to submit a loan move for Saliba this summer.

This comes as the former Saint-Etienne star is yet to make a start in the senior team for the Gunners as he has been restricted to appearances for the Under-23s.

He was however sent to Nice on a temporary deal over the winter.

While at Nice, the Gunners youngster quickly established himself as an integral player at the French club making 20 appearances in Ligue 1.

The reports from Emirate stadium have revealed that his performance at Nice has made coach Mikel Arteta have a change of plan for him and is considering integrating him into his plans for the new season.

However, the Daily Mail have claimed that Newcastle are hopeful of taking Saliba on loan, as they have been impressed with fellow Arsenal youngster Joe Willock, who played a starring role during his stint with the Magpies last season.

The Magpies are banking on the fact that Saliba wouldn’t get regular playing chances in the senior team and are hoping to convince Arsenal to let him join them instead.

Newcastle are also planning to sign Willock permanently.
