Chelsea are preparing reports to officially pull out from the European Super League, according to Sky News.

The news will come as a huge blow to the next 11 ‘founder members’ – including the likes of English clubs Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham.

Chelsea are set to become the first club to pull out from the planned European Super League.

The Premier league giants were one of twelve  leading European clubs to commit on Sunday to being important for another breakaway competition they trusted would match the Champions League.

But, the move has come in for practically universal condemnation with supporters groups, football figures and lawmakers all voicing their resistance to the proposition.

Thousands fans challenged the new venture outside of Stamford Bridge ahead of the Premier League fixture with Brighton.

Furthermore, shortly before kick-off news sifted through that the club are preparing paper work to pull out from the competition.
