We want to be the best in the Premier League – Arteta
Ahead of the North London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in the premier league this weekend, the Gunners coach, Mikel Arteta has ruled out his team in the fight for supremacy in London.
According to Arteta in a post-match statement, he disclosed that Arsenal deserves better and want to be the best not just in London but the whole of the premier league.
“No,” he said to the Mirror UK, when he was asked if being the fourth-best team in London was acceptable.
“We want to be the best – and not in London,” Arteta declared.
He stressed that is the standard they have to try to reach because of the expectation they have and what the club has done over the years.
Arteta stated that he is not interested in London but interested in the whole country and being the best in the country.
This is a hard target to reach for the Gunners because they are not even in the top four on the league table which was usually their aim in the past.
Also, Arsenal team at the moment can’t be compared with the likes of Man City, Man Uts and even Chelsea who spend well to bring in new players.
