Manchester United star hails club legend after overtaking his goal record

It was a great night for Manchester United team and fans across the globe as they put in a commanding display to trash Southampton at old Trafford.

Manchester United put in a dominant display to dispatch Southampton 9 nil at Old Trafford as they continue their good form in the Premier League.

Marcus Rashford was among the goal scorer as the England international scored in the first half to put the game behind Southampton who had two players sent off.

His goal was his 83rd for Manchester United and this put him above Eric Cantona who scored 82 goals for the club in a glittering career.

Rashford who couldn’t hide his excitement after the match admitted that passing Eric Cantona’s goals total for Manchester United is a special moment.

The young forward took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share his excitement as he noted that It’s a special moment for him as a boyhood United fan, passing King Eric’s record.

He added praising the team performance, noting that he loved it.

Rashford will now set his sight on overtaking one of Cantona’s teammates, David Beckham, who has two more goals for United than him.

The Red Devils are at the second spot on the EPL table.
