Trouble for Chelsea as target’s market value takes dramatic shift

Chelsea’s pursuit of Erling Haaland has taken a huge step backward as the transfer market value of the star striker has taken a dramatic turn.

Erling Haaland is currently one of the most sought after talents in Europe as the young striker has been banging in goals from all cylinders ever since he arrived in Germany.

Top clubs across Europe like Liverpool, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Chelsea and a host of others have been monitoring his good development at Borussia Dortmund.

None of the top clubs in the big five leagues in Europe have been able to agree a price with Dortmund who brought in the striker from Red Bull Salzburg in the summer of 2019.

According to transfermarket, the Norway international would cost any team approximately £90million.

If Chelsea were to agree on a price with Borussia Dortmund and bring him in, he would represent a club-record for the London club that was the highest spending team during the last transfer window.

Ever since Haaland joined Borussia Dortmund in 2019, he has scored 35 goals in 36 appearances and he’s currently on par with the top strikers across Europe.

Though reports have it that he has a release clause of £66.6million, it cannot be triggered until the summer of 2022.
