Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen didn’t participate in Napoli’s first pre-season game on Tuesday under their new manager Antonio Conte.

The reports disclosed that Osimhen was missing in action for the Naples due to fitness issues.

Napoli played local Italian club, Anaune Val Di Non, with former Chelsea boss Conte taking charge of his first game.

Osimhen’s name had been previously listed among those on the bench when the team lists were released, but it turned out he was in the stands.

Recall that the Nigerian forward has been training separately from the rest of the team over the last few days due to fitness issues.

Osimhen was said to have left training early a few days ago with an ice pack strapped around his ankle.

In the forward’s absence, Napoli led by Conte had a 4-nil victory against Val Di Non with Leonardo Spinazzola, Walid Cheddira, Gianluca Gaetano and Cyril Ngonge putting their names on the scoresheet.

Meanwhile, Osimhen has continued to be linked with an exit from Napoli this summer transfer window.

Chelsea are currently one of the clubs that are keen on signing him. Others are Arsenal and French giants PSG who will submit a bid for him if they sell one of their strikers this summer.
