Chelsea set to open contract talks with star midfielder amidst interest from rivals
Chelsea are not leaving any stone unturned when it comes to securing the future of their to stars as they are willing to extend the contract of N’Golo Kante.
Kante has become Chelsea’s most important player ever since he was signed from Leicester City and he played an important role in the blues Champions League triumph last season.
His performance has seen him being tipped to win the Ballon d’Or ahead of other players who played a huge role in their club success last season.
However, Kante has always been linked with a move away from Chelsea with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly the club willing to sign him.
With just two years left to run on Kante’s current deal with Thomas Tuchel’s side, Chelsea are willing to open talks with him on another deal.
This was reported by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano who claimed the contract talks between Kante and the European Cup holders will start in the next few months.
Romano noted that there were two offers for the France international during last summer’s transfer window, but he rejected both and stayed with the blues.
Kante has made 218 appearances for the Blues since he arrived from Leicester and last season, he made 48 appearances in all competition.
