Chelsea have welcomed numerous new faces to Stamford Bridge this summer, and their transfer activities show no sign of slowing down.

Aaron Anselmino has expressed his heartfelt emotions ahead of a potential transfer to Chelsea.

The 19-year-old defender has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer as Enzo Maresca looks to bolster his defense.

According to football.london, the Blues have agreed to a £17 million deal with Boca Juniors for Anselmino, who is considered ‘one for the future’ by Chelsea officials.

ESPN reports that the young talent has traveled to England to undergo a medical before finalizing the deal.

Anselmino will continue on loan at his childhood club until the end of the year. Before departing Argentina, the Boca Juniors ace described his impending move to west London as a dream come true.

“I’m very happy; everything happened very quickly,” Anselmino told ESPN. “I’ve dreamed of this since I was little.

Things are going well, and I hope they continue like this. Every footballer dreams of this opportunity, and I am very happy.”

The young defender is set to return to Boca Juniors by next Thursday after finalizing his switch to Chelsea.

Anselmino has only made a few appearances for the Argentine outfit since his senior debut last year.

Although he won’t join Maresca’s squad until January, his arrival during the festive period could be a strategic move, especially if Chelsea faces another injury crisis.

Speaking to reporters after a defeat to Celtic, the Chelsea boss was asked for updates on Anselmino and Filip Jorgensen.

“The only thing I can say is they are still Boca Juniors and Villarreal players,” Maresca said. “The moment they arrive, we will make some comments, but at this moment, they are still not our players, so we will see. I know both of them, and they are very good.”

Regarding Marc Guiu, who has been heavily linked with a loan move, Maresca added: “The idea with Marc and all the young players is to evaluate them during the pre-season and then make a decision. Marc is doing well and is currently one of the players who will stay with us.”
