Ole hails this Man Utd player despite defeat to Villarreal
Man Utd on Wednesday night challenged Spanish club, Villarreal in the Uefa Europa League final with the game ending in a victory for the Spanish club.
The game started with a lead for Villarreal thanks to an effort from Gerard Moreno, Utd would later find the back of the net thanks to Edison Cavani but it was not enough to save them as the game ended on penalty kicks in favour of the Spanish side.
One area Villarreal coach, Unai Emery got it right was stopping the duo of Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba from being able to play their best and this gave chance to Scott McTominay to shine at the midfield for the Red Devils.
Following their defeat, the Red Devils coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has applauded McTominay for his performance during the game.
Ole in statement with reporters said, “I thought Scott McTominay was absolutely outstanding out there. He was, for me, the best player on the pitch.”
The Red Devils coach also applauded his boys as he believed they gave their best this season even though it was not enough.
Man Utd finished at the second spot on the Premier league table which means they would be playing in the champions league next season.
