Zouma reveals why he left Chelsea

France international, Kurt Zouma, in a recent statement, has revealed why he left Chelsea for West Ham.

Recall that the French defender completed a swap move from Stamford Bridge to the London Stadium this summer.

Zouma appears not to have been on Thomas Tuchel team list, and it was best for him to leave.

The defender, in a statement, stressed that he needed to play and compete more.

“I needed to play more,” he said.

“Obviously I was in a team that was doing really well. Coming here has allowed me to compete more to play. It’s a club that wants to progress and grow. And I want to be part of this project.”

He went on to reveal how happy he is to have joined the Hammers as he has become a key player under the David Moyes led squad.

West Ham have been impressive this season and also finished in the top six last season, which means Zouma would get an opportunity to play in the Uefa Europa League this season.
