Update on Azpilicueta’s injury

Chelsea defender and captain Cesar Azpilicuta has returned to the club following his injury that saw him land at the hospital last weekend during the Blues’ game vs Southampton.

According to the report via the Chelsea website, Azpilicueta observed training at the club.

The club’s medical team are, however, closely monitoring his condition, adhering to the important concussion protocols in place to ensure his safety.

He was said to have observed training on Wednesday before he starts working towards returning to the pitch.

It is unlikely that the defender will play in Chelsea’s next game vs Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

Chelsea will hope to bounce back with a win against the Hotspurs having lost all three points against Southampton in their last match.

The Blues are currently seated at the 10th spot on the Premier League table amid a struggling form this season.
