Southgate warns England players about this Chelsea star ahead of 2022 World Cup
England national team manager Gareth Southgate has sent a message to his squad about Chelsea’s winger, Christian Pulisic as he could cause headaches for them in the World Cup in Qatar.
Southgate in his statement spoke about Pulisic’s career at Stamford Bridge, stressing that the American may be disappointed at how things have turned out for him.
Pulisic arrived at Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund in 2019 as a replacement for Eden Hazard, but has been unable to fill the gap at Stamford Bridge.
So far, Pulisic has scored only 26 goals in 131 games and has struggled to become a regular in the Blues squad.
Southgate told ESPN: “I obviously watched him a fair bit at Borussia Dortmund.
“I think there’s been moments where he’s looked like he’s on his way, he’s flowing.
“He would probably feel he hasn’t got quite to where he wants to get to yet, I’d imagine, but he’s a very good player and is a player when you’re looking at the opposition team sheet, he’s someone you’ve got to be aware of and got to be ready for.”
