Former Chelsea star reveals why Liverpool and Manchester City star fail to impress at Stamford Bridge
Former Chelsea forward Oscar has revealed the main reason why Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne failed to impress during their time at Stamford Bridge.
Kevin De Bruyne arrived at Stamford Bridge from Genk in 2012 for just £7m and Salah came to west London two years later from Basel, in a deal worth around £11m.
Both players could not live to expectations at Chelsea and were loaned out before they were eventually sold.
Things have now changed dramatically in the recent season as Salah has become one of the best forward in Europe while De Bruyne is showing his clash with Manchester City.
Oscar who also had an impressive career with Chelsea before moving to China while speaking with Yellow and Green Football stated that there was a formation where Eden Hazard, De Bruyne and himself played in midfield and it worked well.
However, De Bruyne had a few chances, played well but then got injured and not being consistent at a club that had many options in the centre of the park meant he was not a good fit at the time.
Oscar stated that with Salah, it was different as he was unstoppable during practice, but always shy and quiet off the field.
During the games, he did not have the confidence that everyone saw at every club he played for after Chelsea, and especially now at Liverpool where he’s currently their best forward.
Oscar enjoyed a productive season at Chelsea as he won two Premier League title as well as an Europa League title, scoring 38 goals in 203 appearances.
