Chelsea former coach Frank Lampard is set to return to football management as the latest update revealed that Everton have offered their vacant managerial position to former England midfielder.

Since his sack as Chelsea coach for over a year ago, Lampard, 43, has been out of coaching job; while he has been linked with several jobs, the former England star has been unable to secure it.

Aside from Lampard, Portuguese Vitor Pereira and caretaker Duncan Ferguson were also among those considered to become the Toffees next coach, but the club decided to move for Lampard.

This comes after Rafael Benitez was sacked after winning just one of his last 13 games.

The reports revealed that Pereira could have gotten the job, but the fans were against having him at Goodison Park.

Former Man Utd star Wayne Rooney was also considered for the managerial role, but he turned down the chance to talk with Everton as he wants to stay at Championship side Derby County.

The reports have claimed that an announcement unveiling Lampard as the new coach at Everton would be made soon.
