Deal Agreed: Roma accept £34m deal to sign Chelsea striker
AS Roma have allegedly agreed a £34m deal to sign Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham this summer transfer window.
The Chelsea academy graduate has become undesirable with the Blues since Thomas Tuchel’s arrival in January, and the 23-year-old has been told he can leave the club.
As per Sky Sports News, Roma are presently the leading the race for Abraham’s signature after agreeing a transfer fee with Chelsea, in spite of interest from London rivals Arsenal and Atalanta BC.
The fast approaching arrival of Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku to Stamford Bridge might have also sped up Abraham’s expected departure, with the Belgium international having had the initial part of his medical on Monday ahead of completing a club-record £97.5m move.
A possible switch to the Italian capital would see the ex-Aston Villa, Swansea City and Bristol City forward link up with former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, who was appointed as the club’s new manager in May.
The 23-year-old made 22 appearances across all competitions for Champions League winners Chelsea last season, scoring 12 goals and six assists.
