After two years at Arsenal, this former Chelsea defender is set to join Flamengo

The latest report has revealed that former Arsenal defender and Brazil star David Luiz is on the way to join Flamengo.

Recall that Luiz became a free agent after leaving Emirate Stadium last season after spending two years at the club.

In his latest reports on transfer,  popular transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, revealed that the Brazilian defender has reached a verbal agreement with the Flamengo.

He revealed that David Luiz will sign a deal with Flamengo that will see him remain at the club until December 2022.

Romano tweeted: “David Luiz to Flamengo, verbal agreement reached and here we go!

“The Brazilian centre back has accepted the contract proposal until December 2022. He’s now set to join Mengão.

“Paperworks time now. Mission: winning the league also in Brazil.”

Recall that David Luiz joined the Gunners from Chelsea, and during his stay at Emirate stadium, he won FA Cup and the community shield.

In another news, Arsenal defeated Norwich on Saturday in a 1-0 scoreline line thanks to the effort from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The victory was needed to ease the tension on Mikel Arteta if the Gunners had again lost to Norwich after poor spells at the beginning of this season.
