Premier League icon revealed how Arsene Wenger rejected him at Arsenal
Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand has revealed how he rejected by Arsene Wenger during his time as the head coach of Arsenal.
Rio Ferdinand was regarded as one of the best players in his position during his playing days but he was dim fit to play for Arsenal by Arsene Wenger.
Ferdinand while speaking on his YouTube channel revealed that he offered his services to Arsene Wenger in 2014, only for the former Gunners boss to turn him down.
The former England international stated that the maddest thing is he thought about joining Arsenal.
Ferdinand stated that at the end of his career when he was leaving Man United, he saw Arsene Wenger in a hotel.
On seeing the French man, he told him that he’s leaving Man United and if Wenger want, he will come and try and help the dressing room etc because he think Arsenal need help in that department.
Ferdinand noted that he will obviously play but, more importantly, he will come for the culture.
However, Arsene Wenger didn’t take him up on the offer.
Ferdinand added that Wenger was right with his decision as his performances at QPR weren’t up to the levels.
