Why Lingard rejected a new deal at Man Utd
A latest report via ESPN has revealed that Jesse Lingard has rejected a new deal with the Red Devils.
According to the reports, Lingard is seeking assurance that he would get more playing chances at Old Trafford before putting pen to paper for another contract.
The 28-year-old is determined to get more playing time at Old Trafford, or he would leave for another club.
If the player and Man Utd fail to reach an agreement on a new contract, Lingard would be able to leave as a free agent at the end of the season.
He will also have the opportunity to negotiate with clubs outside England from January.
One reason why the English player is determined to find regular football is to keep his place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
He was closed to missing out on a place in the squad for Euro 2020.
If the Res Devils fail to assure him of more game time, numerous clubs outside the EPL would be willing to sign Lingard.
We will have to wait till the January transfer window to see if the Red Devils will finally bend to his wish or now.
