New manager takes decision on Ronaldo’s future at Man Utd

Manchester United’s new permanent manager, Erik ten Hag, has taken a decision on the future of Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo at the club.

Ten Hag wants Ronaldo to remain at the club next season, according to the UK Telegraph.

The Dutchman plans to make the 37-year-old a key part of his new-look team next season.

Recall that the Portugal star returned to Old Trafford last summer, but his future has become a matter of intense speculation.

Despite the Red Devils’ poor season, Ronaldo has managed to score 24 goals in all competitions.

With no Champions League football for the Red Devils next season, Ronaldo’s future at the club remains unknown and he is yet to make a definitive decision on his future.

Going by his terms of contract, Ronaldo still has over 12 months to run on the two-year deal he signed last August and Ten Hag wants to retain the Portugal captain’s unique goalscoring talents, even if he may not be ideally suited to the style of football he wishes to implement.
