Portuguese side reportedly eyeing Liverpool youngster after a successful season

Portuguese side Porto are reportedly eyeing Liverpool youngster Harry Wilson as they hope to bring an end to his journey with the reds.

Harry Wilson began his youth career with Liverpool but has not been able to break into the first team, a move that has seen him being shipped out on loan for most of his senior career with the Reds.

Wilson has been successful loan spells with clubs in Europe, and he spent last season with Cardiff City, where he scored seven goals in 37 appearances in the Championship.

His good form with the Wales club has now attracted Porto, who are willing to sign him permanently, according to journalist Duncan Castles.

Speaking on The Transfer Window Podcast, Castles stated that Harry Wilson is an exciting player.

According to Castles, there was an expectation that Wilson might turn into a first-team player for Liverpool.

Instead, he has spent two-and-a-half seasons on loan in the Championship and one in the Premier League at Hull City, Derby County, Bournemouth and Cardiff City.

He has two years left on his contract, and if Liverpool are going to sell, you’d think this is the summer to sell him.

Castles noted that Porto’s interest in the player and that interest is driven by Sergio Conceicao, the Portuguese team coach.

He added that though Porto are eager to sign another Liverpool player, Marko Grujic, who they had on loan last season, Wilson has also been identified as a potential target.
