Liverpool dealt blow in pursuit of star midfielder who plans to stay at his current club

Premier League side Liverpool have been dealt a massive blow in the pursuit of Hoffenheim midfielder, Christoph Baumgartner who plan to stay at the club next summer.

Liverpool are currently searching for a midfielder after Wijnaldum signed for Paris Saint-Germain on a few transfers.

Jurgen Klopp’s team are willing to compete on all front next season, and Christoph Baumgartner has been tipped as his replacement.

Baumgartner put in a brilliant performance for Hoffenheim last season, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists from 41 appearances across all competitions.

However, Liverpool might not be having an advantage of adding him to their club as he prefers to stay with the Bundesliga side.

Speaking with German magazine Sport Bild, Baumgartner stated that his plan is very clear that he will play at Hoffenheim next season.

Baumgartner noted that he extended his contract in March with the intention of playing with Hoffenheim next season.

According to Baumgartner, he sees the best opportunity to develop myself further at Hoffenheim, noting that this means consistent performances at a high level and an upward trajectory.
