World Cup: Former Chelsea star reacts as Senegal qualifies for round of 16
Former Chelsea star, Didier Drogba, has sent a message to the Teranga Lions of Senegal as he commended them for qualifying for the next round of the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Senegal defeated Ecuador 2-1 on Tuesday, thanks to goals from Ismaila Sarr and Kalidou Koulibaly as they became the first African country to make it to the next round in the ongoing world football tournament.
The result means Senegal finished in the second position in Group A with six points from three games.
Following their recent victory, the West African country will face the Three Lions of England on Sunday.
Reacting, Drogba, in a tweet via his Twitter handle after the game, wrote, “Congratulations @FootballSenegal for qualifying, no doubt Bouba Diop is proud of you from above 2002-2022 @FIFAWorldCup.”
In another report, Senegal have sent a warning to England ahead of the face-off as they said they fear no one.
