Why this midfielder is important to Chelsea

Chelsea manager and Germany international Thomas Tuchel, in a recent statement, has revealed one player that is important to the squad.

According to Tuchel, the player is no other person than Italy international Jorginho.

This comes after Jorgjnho’s performance vs Leeds United in the EPL on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.

The Italian midfielder was instrumental to Chelsea picking all three points vs Leeds United as the game ended in a 3-2 scoreline.

Tuchel, in a statement, stressed that Jorginho is important to Chelsea because he sacrificed himself for the club.

“He [Jorginho] is super important,” Tuchel said at his post-match press conference.

“He sacrifices himself for many weeks actually. I knew this moment would come where he suffers because he played [UEFA] Champions League, then played in Europe with Italy, then qualifiers for the World Cup, so it wasn’t only physical effort for him but it was mentally very demanding.”

“He had no pre-season, started the Super Cup straight away, so I knew there would be a point in the season he does not feel fully fit. But Jorgi is fully aware of the situation and has sacrificed.

“He has been working for hours and hours with the physios and medical department to get himself in the best shape possible.”
