Why Chelsea made a new appointment
Chelsea have made a new appointment in the person of Paul Winstanley as their Director of Global Talent and Transfers.
The club’s co-owner Todd Boehly in a statement explained the reason for Winstanley’s appointment.
According to Boehly, they chose Winstanley because the Englishman shared Chelsea’s philosophy and would fit seamlessly into the organisation.
Winstanley makes it another individual to joined Chelsea after he had spent eight years with Premier League side Brighton.
He joins Graham Potter and Marc Cucurella who also joined Chelsea from Brighton some months ago.
Reacting to Winstanley’s appointment, Boehly and co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali were quoted by the club’s website as saying: “Paul is going to be a great addition to Chelsea.
“He’s highly respected and is a key senior addition as we continue to build a world class sporting team with a huge depth of talent, ambition and commitment who will work closely with us to drive Chelsea forward.”
