Wenger reacts to Arsenal’s move for Declan Rice
Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reacted to the club’s move for Declan Rice this summer.
This comes as the Gunners on Saturday finally sealed a £105million transfer for Rice from West Ham.
Arsenal were able to seal a move for Rice after two failed bids for the midfielder, who was also linked to Manchester City.
While Man City dropped out of the race owing to the high fees from the Hammers, the Gunners went on to submit a third offer for the England international, which was accepted.
Wenger, speaking to Eurosport about Rice, said: “I think it is a good investment. Overall, personally, I think they have made good buys as they are players who are now mature, 23, 24, but still young, so can stay together for a few years.”
Meanwhile, Rice is the Gunners third signing of the summer after Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber.
